Purpose

Our purpose is to create “proper pubs” in London. We are London residents, passionate about creating a welcoming place for the community, offering excellent food, a great choice of beers and great quality wines. We want to be homely with some elegance, fun but professional. We are passionate about what we serve and how we do it.

We operated the Duke of Wellington until its heart-breaking closure in March 2016. We decided to keep going and took over the Albert Arms in SE1 in June 2016, which has since become the community’s beloved local and a destination for its Sunday Roast and also great and affordable selection of wines.

In October 2020, we have reopened the Duke, after an extensive refurb. We are very proud to be here again and able to welcome you in a new Duke, which we hope will become part of your daily life.

Menus

Food is our passion and, in our view, one of the main things that set apart a good pub from a great one. At the Duke, exceptional food is the kitchen's primary ambition and we continuously strive to share this passion with our guests. This effort is made easier by working with some of the best suppliers in the country sourcing top quality British produce that helps dictate our seasonal, modern British menu.

Outside of the kitchen, the Duke houses an impressive wine list to champion all others and a cellar full to the brim with hand-picked bottles, carefully stored and served when the time is right. We have established this as a tradition in our pubs. Whether you are looking for that special vintage of Tignanello, one of Albert Bichot’s productions or just something light and quaffable by the glass, we have it. Alongside a selection of cask ales, draughts sourced from local breweries and bottled beers this contemporary take on a traditional pub offers modern, seasonal, British dining at its best.
